I think Matt would get a kick out of the Incredible Popeman action dolls. The perfect companion for your Buddy Christ! (msn article)

“He isn’t John Paul II any more,” Leon said. “From now on, he’s the Incredible Popeman.”

Colombian artist Rodolfo Leon, a non-practicing Catholic has been working on the comic book for about a year. In the comic book, the pope dies and is reborn with superpowers beyond the infallibility Catholic doctrine gave him on Earth.

He also plans to produce Incredible Popeman action dolls.

Sometimes I wonder how it affects her self-esteem.

He’ll be there until midway through December, doing missionary work with a radio brodcasting group on the island, beaming the name of Jesus Christ to hundreds of thousands of people in China. His job is to keep the radio tower working through typhoon season.

There’s still some element of shock about the whole thing. But seeing him packing placed a note of closure on the endevour. He is going, but will be back in a few months.

I’m going to miss him.

This morning the IVCF Frosh Week BBQ took place on the University of Windsor campus. It was a beautiful day, not a cloud in the sky, despite (because of?) weather reports of severe thunderstorms. Despite a little hecticness with power sourcing (and an extreemly obvious solution), the event went off without a hitch.

We planned to serve 1000 people, closely approaching that number. We had a little more than a hundred hotdogs left at the end of the day, and we were completely out of juice boxen. (The day was hot enough that people seemed to better prefer the poor tasting, but ice cold, liquid.)

Much buffoonery took place, largely invoked by Josh (as per usual), and largely targeting Josh (as per usual), often involving gross amounts of ice water, which noone at all (read: Hilary a little) minded.

This event marks the first time I did an audio equipment rental solo, which is important to me.

I hope to see our number flourish this coming season.
