Wordpress OpenID Plugin

I’ve been working on an OpenID plugin for Wordpress.
OpenID is an open, decentralized, free framework for user-centric digital identity. The wpopenid plugin lets visitors to a Wordpress blog quickly register, login, and leave comments using their OpenID. It streamlines the wordpress user registration loop, and aims to do it seamlessly in the context of the [...]

A Camera Found

I thought I had lost it forever, evidenced by its unpresence in my luggage. I searched high and low, and backtracked its travels across the prior states. I spoke to those recently seen, searching for timestamps and proof.
I had it at the bar, flickr can attest to that. It attended lunch, according to LT. But [...]

An Otakon Trip, Part 4

Today appeared to be the day of meeting more forum folks.
Rob and I made an early start of things, getting to the con about 8:30. We went straight to the MegaGear booth to get a Fred sketch, and have him sign my CG print.
In the company of Rob, BG, and myself; Nate skillfully practiced alchemy, [...]

An Otakon Trip, Part 3

Hotel had a complementary breakfast, which was nice, if insubstantial.
Some half hour of wait time in the pre-reg line before obtaining our badges. We thought it would be much longer of a wait, but the line moved quick. Soon enough, we were blessed with the crisp cold conditioned air of the Baltimore Convention Center.
Watched a [...]

Baltimore or Bust: An Otakon 2006 Event

After several days of indicision and hectic plan-making, I’ve decided to attend Otakon this year. Now, as I continue to recall, Baltimore stinks. Otakon itself isn’t much better. Apart, of course, from the Raining and Fangirling, but that just helps the atmosphere. I’m really only attending to see some cool people.

There Was No Sign For Cairo

Found this odd script scrawled across a support beam under a train station. It seemed to be a fairly disused utility tunnel, judging by the layer of dust covering the floor. I didn’t see anyone else, and the rattling thunder of the express lines was loud enough to drive me out before I took any [...]

Happy Birthday _Quinn

Another year forward for a most esteemed gentleman. He says he’s a poet, but it’s always been his wild speculations (more vignette than theory) that caught my heart. Tonight I drink a toast to _Quinn, splendid author, cohort, and friend.

Meme: Simple Social Networking

Not as fun as the ficticious memories, but if you Comment on this post,

I’ll respond with something random about you.
I’ll challenge you to try something.
I’ll pick a color that I associate with you.
I’ll tell you something I like about you.
I’ll tell you my first/clearest memory of you.
I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of.
I’ll [...]

The Tiered Internet

I’ve been reading through an essay by Doc Searls entitled “Saving the Net: How to Keep the Carriers from Flushing the Net Down the Tubes“. It addresses a set of issues that have been bugging me for a while.
We need to stress how the pipe-centric view of the world is responsible for the crippled and [...]

Ubuntu dist-upgrade

Quoth the Shannon: apt-get dist-upgrade
An lo, there was a might knashing of discs and flickering of lights! And in the middle of it all sat a cute geek girl, with the mightist grin you ever did see.
Twas then that she turned, and said unto me, that she was delighted for fun in her typing. And [...]
