James Van Iveren in Wisconsin heard a woman shrieking for help in apartment upstairs. With no telephone to call the police, he took matters into his own hands, equipped his antique sword, and kicked down the door to save the damsel in distress. In unpleasent contrast, he discovers his neighbour sitting alone, watching porn.
So now James Van Iveren is being charged with three crimial counts.
Of course, if a women had been in the process of being raped in his neighbour’s apartment, this man would have been declared a hero, and gratefully thanked for his knightly behaviour.

‘Unpleasant contrast’? Embarrassing though it presumably was, I would expect the scenario in which a woman is /not/ being raped upstairs to be something of a relief.
Well, it’s an unpleasant contrast in that he’s being charged as a criminal now. Poor guy.
Actually, in this case, unpleasant is watching someone watching porn.
This is an incredibly frustrating story.
Yeah, poor fella. He heard the woman screaming, then reacted ten hours later. Why can’t society just let this guy go for doing the right thing and waiting ten hours?
