I havn’t climbed for several weeks. This is bad, as it’s resulted, shockingly enough, in myself being more tired and worn out after every day of work. Taking a break from sitting in a chair, and hauling my ass up a vertical incline, has done wonders for my mental and physical well-being.
Saturday I was unshocked to observe that I did not, in fact, have the same skill and endurance that I did a month ago. In short, I sucked.
Monday night was almost all bouldering, which (while easier than climbing high with a belayer from an endurance perspective) involves a significantly higher concentration of power moves. My cup of soup, as it were: I didn’t suck.
J, you must climb. How about Saturday evening?
