Kevan Davis has implemented (as of July2004) a very intresting hack based on del.icio.us’s bookmark entry tagging scheme. I wonder what feasibility exists for implementing something similarly cool with the cwdb’s datamining goodness.

A thought! Not entirely related to your question, but one I felt was worth sharing. And thus: on the front page especially, a small dropdown box to the right of the search box that lets you limit what data fields you’re searching, much in the same way as my local library ( http://catalog.cantonpl.org/ ) does.
Two things I can’t remember: one, if I’ve already suggested this at some point, and two, if you already turned the idea down as cluttering the interface too much. BUT~! I am lazy and would like to be able to trigger a more specific search than I am currently able to, directly from the main page, and so I will suggest it anyway.
Regarding the search-where dropdown, it’s an idea I’ve been playing with for a while. I am not too certain that placing this box on every page (in the header/ menubar) is a good idea, for clutrical reasons. The search page would be perfectly suited to it, being somewhat of an Advanced search view. The main/front/news page might be deserving of a search box too.
