Here is my class Class Schedule for Winter2005. We’ll figure out how to make work fit around this. Which, as I might observe, affects J and Garran’s plans for next week.
Guys, give me a shout when you’re back.
I found out upon arrival to work, that I wasn’t scheduled today, as it was my holiday. But since I was there anyway, I might as well get to work. Yay!
Promptly post-work I bumped over to change Shannon’s tire today, which was stubborn. ’twas rusted on quite good, but a liberal dousing with WD40 ate [...]
After receiving 28 pieces of comment spam from random (spoofed) ips in the span of 20 minutes, I decided to rename my comments-post.php file, leaving a dummy in its place. However, the spambot found the changed url via the actual blog posts’ comment forms, and navigated to it successfully.
I noticed that the spambot was not [...]
I left my Sony Clie outside in the car overnight; it was found this morning in an odd state. The liquid crystal display was frozen, resulting in some interesting lag on screen redraw. The batteries were almost entirely run down. It’s on the charger now, and I hope it doesn’t experience any long-term battery life [...]
Work was more good. Learned some DSL troubleshooting stuff.
Matt is Back. I will be meeting with him tomorrow for a little long-missed socialization.
I visited the Toyota dealership again today, testdrove a 2001 Corolla (163,000Km highway, 7.5k$CA, AC, Automatic, Power doors+windows). The ride was better than the Tercel.

I was overdressed, being the only person there with a tie on. Clayton (the owner) was there in a tshirt and jeans. Nearly everyone wore denim.
I spent almost the entire time talking with Gorden, Level2 tech, about the company structure and history, with a [...]
Phil Aylesworth gifted me with two machines.
PII-400 server test-deployment machine: Will be used to test implementation of a remote X applications server running on Fedora Core 3.
Apple Power Macintosh G3: He wanted to get rid of it, and I wouldn’t mind getting either an OS7-9 environment running, or LinuxPPC. It has onboard ethernet, which is [...]

Well thank you very much. That’s majorly useful.

It’s nice to get up early and be involved in something.
My MIT617 Network Security exam starts in 1.2 arns. It’ll probably take an hour. I expect that the material I know will be very easy to recall. However, I also expect a fairly beefy quantity of stupid questions (which could involve a multitude of correct non-text-quoting answers) from textbook quotes.
In other news, Matt is going [...]
