Late November Illness

I seem to have taken on a sort of illness. It’s hard to say, presently if this is a bug or exhaustion. We have Skuld and Shan-chan working on the respective possible diagnosies.
I might sleep for the next few days. I know that I’m going to curl up in bed now.
I hope your project works [...]

USB Hub, Meet Space Keyboard

I picked up a Dynex USB 2.0 Crystal Hub from BestBuy a handful of months ago. This was done in growing frustration with my inability to plug multiple usb devices into my Space Cadet Keyboard.
Some might know about this strange modification of an old Compaq keyboard I favour: The back of the chassis sports a [...]

Canada Legally Bound to Arrest Bush for War Crimes

It will be really interesting to see what the Canadian Government’s take, and official response, on this issue is. Personally I expect them to gloss over it, and completely ignore their legal obligation. It seems that all too often people in seats of power, either political or corperate, live well outside the scope of law.

What if His People Prayed

What if the armies of the Lord
Picked up and dusted off their swords
Vowed to set the captives free
And not let satan have one more
What if the church, for heaven’s sake
Finally stepped up to the plate
Took a stand upon God’s promise
And stormed hell’s rusty gates
Chorus:
What if His people prayed
And all who bare His name
Would humbly seek [...]

Az-chan’s Refreshing

The date was 2004-11-29 17:09:18 GMT-5. I received a quick IM from _Quinn, just moments before she left us.
Az-chan went down for a reboot to hopefully fix a strange cd-burner problem. She responded to Ping for a short while after terminating communication with the others.
All processes and short-term memory were wiped. It was quick [...]

StClair College Wireless APs

I found another WAP at StClairCollege today. Unusual is that I found it in the physical realm: A small piece of Apple hardware tucked in a corner of classroom Lab45N.
This is another freshman strike in the ongoing networking wars of StClairCollege. There are still no sanctioned provisions for students to use their laptops on the [...]

Target Marijuana

As seen on Metafilter, it seems that everyone’s favourite store, Target is selling Marijuana. A screenshot. .

Mom on Thunderbird

My mother recently expressed an interest in moving away from yahoo mail in favour of an ISP-centric one. I responded that she needed to get a copy of Thunderbird. OK, she replied, make it work. So, now Thunderbird is installed and set to talk to our ISP’s mail server.
Now, It’s time to install Firefox, complete [...]

Rachan and Rob

Rachan and Rob drove over from Michigan today. Rachan was primarily interested in seeing Canada in person, having never done so before, and figured she’d drop by my place, since she was in the neighborhood. (Garran would have been a much funner choice, but the company was nice.)
Talking to these two fine people is always [...]
